Outbound telemarketing has been around for a long time. However,
in the last five years it has become an increasingly popular
marketing tool. Perhaps one of the most well-known hubs for
these types of jobs is India, where the largest telemarketing
industry can be found.
Basically, outbound telemarketing is one of the two most well-known
types of telemarketing. It refers to the type in which the person
or telemarketer calls the prospective consumer to promote or
sell a product or service. It is typical in an outbound telemarketing
environment that the companies obtain telemarketing leads. The
leads are actually the list of the potential customers. So from
the list, the agent doing the outbound telemarketing calls each
person to offer them a particular product or service.

results of the telemarketrs performance very carefully.
Today, the outbound telemarketing option has come of age and
it is widely used through out the world. Although, it is considered
more complicated than its counterpart, the inbound telemarketing,
performing outbound calls is still one of the cheapest and easiest
ways of communication. This is one of the key factors that more
and more companies consider in this kind of business.
With the rise of a number of telemarketing companies specializing
in outbound services, a number of telemarketing jobs came to
occur. However, there are certain requirements that job applicants
must meet in order for them to qualify. Usually, what is being
required for the agents are skills and qualities such as a clear
and fluent telephone voice, confidence when talking to strangers,
the ability to understand a wide range of accents, the ability
to work quickly and under pressure, an outgoing personality,
and a lot more.
If you qualify for this type of work, you will usually be introduced
to a formal training program. There is specific training for
telephone skills and product knowledge, and it is very important
for the outbound telemarketers to be sufficiently confident
when they make their first real calls.
